new idea. A collection of faces? or emotions?

Image
A while back I met with Dom in the woodwork department and he had cut up some wood for me, just some small 15cmx15cm squares which i then acrylic poured onto and since then I have drawn faces over these in a stylised way.  I like the way they look. I enjoy the markings made by the pour but then the face is added over the top but with the pour markings still visible in the background.....  more alien faces   more eyes mE SaD iN ThE tUb. no face though

changing ideas

life has been difficult behind college scenes. It been very challenging in places and there has been points where I believed I may have to leave study to go back to being a full time parent. I have been sitting on a fence, filled with guilt and not knowing which way to go.  I am still here. I will continue. Because of the trying last few weeks I have again fallen back on the work load and lost my concentration on the project. Again! I am loosing time because of my terrible organisational and self management skills that comes with the dyslexia I am now worried about continuing with making the collection of masks. I do not feel there is enough time to complete this for the time we have left. I believe I need to simplify it even more. A collection of faces? I enjoy creating stylised non human like faces. If i do go down this route I will be disappointed in myself as it feels like a cop out, a last resort the will not show my full potential but given the circumstances. I did see an amazin

A guide on art galleries for emerging artists.

16/4/24 Today we had a little chat with Tom H about different types of galleries and also different types of spaces that could either potentially be perfect for an exhibition for us to showcase our work or they could be places that would not look at your email twice. This is great info to have, and a great list of the gallery sites to check out. Which ones look more appropriate for when branching out with your skills? and how we can get involved and get our feet through those doors? The big guys.  High end, posh stuff. "If you cant see a price tag then you probably cant afford it"   A few places here that only have the best of the best artists, the piece de resistance, for the folks whom already have the money. These places would snort at your request. Albeit very pretty to go look at of course.  Lisson Gallery   Exhibitions | Lisson Gallery     NYC Gagosian      Gagosian     London Barbara Gladstone     Gladstone Gallery    NYC White Cube     White Cube     London Commercia

I am now a part of the team with Angry Pencils. An artist collective doing live art jams that we host in and around Peterborough. On Friday the 5th April i did my 3rd live paint jam (2nd time with the Angry Pencil team) at a community garden with 13 other local artists. We had no theme this time per say, only that we must create something that is pg. as it was a family event.  We could choose board sizes from  4ft by 4ft  4ft by 8ft or 8ft by 8ft I chose the middle ground. A safe 4ft by 8ft. Which I still find a wee bit intimidating but i thought lets go for it. We are also allowed to use spray cans, pasting, Posca pens, acrylic paint, stencils or any medium for 2d. I chose cans, chalk (just for marking), posca and acrylic paint. Here are some drawings and prep I did leading up to the event. Dogface. Shapes and lines. Black lines on white background. Done on a friends ipad. I wish I could afford one. Dogface. White lines on black background. I like better.    Many of the artists had ex
